Lisa DeRoy

Real Estate Experience

Lisa joins the Lighthouse team with an ideal combination of insights gleaned from having worked locally in both banking and custom home building. Her understanding of the mortgage and appraisal processes, as well as her knowledge and interest in the mechanics of a home, the build process, and renovations bring valuable perspective to her work with clients.

Past Life

Lisa holds her undergrad degree in Business with a minor in Wildlife Management (to manage all those wild business people!) as well an MBA from URI. She works as an integral part of local custom home builder, Lawrence Builders, managing finances related to clients and vendors/subcontractors as well as assisting with client contracts and change orders. Previously she worked for 12 successful years as an assistant branch manager and securities licensed banker with Citizens Bank.

The Good Stuff

Lisa lives in South County with her two daughters, Summer and Phoebe. They enjoy going to the beach in the evenings and taking nature walks whenever possible. The South County bike path has become a place for Lisa to reflect and power out a great bike ride!

How did you get into this business?

I feel I have a lot to offer clients with my well-rounded past experiences in banking and having learned a lot about real estate through witnessing the home building process many times over. I have personally always kept track of what was happening in the real estate market for my own curiosities and the knowledge I have gained can be used to help others through the process.  Sales isn’t just selling a pretty object, it involves knowing your client and their needs and wishes as well as managing the administrative part of the process. My years of experience with all of these things made me realize this is just the next step in rounding out my career and to get back to helping people!

Favorite spot in South County?

The Fantastic Umbrella Factory!!! I have been going there for years, if not to find a quirky gift then to just enjoy the whimsy of the place with its beautiful gardens, bamboo forest and farm animals to entertain the kids.
